Message from the Director

It is evident that there are few countries
in this whole wide world other than Ethiopia that suffer
from the abhorrent consequences of war, recurrent famine,
absence of good governance and many more socio-economic
and political ills in its long history. Poverty however
remains the primary manifestation of the social fabric
in the country for long and long years. Unless the people
of Ethiopia all stand up |
| together to fight the abject poverty,
it will remain for years and years to come as the vivid
imagery of the country. MCDP is established in 1998
G.C. to contribute to the effort being made at national
level to eliminate poverty and enable the people of
Ethiopia to lead a self-reliant life. The organization
has accomplished reasonable success in working among
the poorest of the poor in both urban and rural areas
through implementing various development projects. The
organization also strives to end the exploitation of
children and women in different places of the country
who are the ultimate hopes for the country’s sovereign
existence. This effort was made possible not only by
the sole effort of MCDP but with unreserved cooperation
and assistance of our partners/actors and the community.
I believe, it is imperative to join hand in hand with
all actors to bring a lasting solution to the problem
of disadvantage segment of the society. |
